ProjectUNICORN HUB Startup Platform – Edition II is co-financed by the European Union under the European Funds for Eastern Poland 2021-2027 programme, Priority FEPW.01 Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Measure FEPW.01.01 Start-up platforms for new ideas, Component I Incubation – development of a new business idea.

The aim of the Project is to support the development of innovative start-ups from Eastern Poland through a comprehensive incubation programme that prepares start-up companies to enter the market.

The project activities include a comprehensive incubation programme consisting of:

* workshop and development programme,
* individual support from an Incubation Manager,
* basic and specialist services, and
* a financial grant to build an MVP and finance other development services.

Planned project results:
- Support for 270 start-ups
- Completion of 9 incubation rounds

The Unicorn Hub platform creates a unique ecosystem that encompasses cooperation between universities, VC funds, SMEs and large companies, IOBs and scientific entities.

The project leader is the Polish Foundation for Economic Development Support Centres ‘OIC Poland’ in Lublin.

Criteria

The idea submitted by the originator should be a product innovation, at least at the national level, understood as ‘the introduction by a given company of a product or service that is new or significantly improved in terms of its characteristics or applications.’

This includes significant improvements in terms of technical specifications, components and materials, embedded software, ease of use or other functional features, or an idea with identified competitive advantages over existing solutions for a given need.

Ideas should fit into the platform’s areas of industry specialisation: medicine, health or horizontal specialisation.

The subject of the project cannot constitute an activity excluded from the possibility of obtaining aid referred to in § 6 of the Regulation on the granting of financial aid by PARP under the FEPW, i.e. financial aid cannot be granted for activities in the field of: the manufacture, processing or marketing of tobacco and tobacco products, production or marketing of alcoholic beverages, production or marketing of pornographic content, trade in explosives, weapons and ammunition, production or marketing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors, substitute substances and new psychoactive substances.
