Having organised accelerators for years, we at the MOST Foundation have repeatedly faced the challenge of significant differences between projects in terms of their stage of development within the same acceleration edition. We noticed that the same schedule for all participants is not always the best solution, and a large number of consultations with mentors in a short period of time can really confuse start-up creators.
That is why we decided to develop a solution that takes into account the different nature and needs of our customers – this is how the innovative ‘Tailor-Made Accelerator’ was created. This process is distinguished by several features that are extremely important for the final result:
Customised acceleration path
An individual development programme is developed for each start-up that successfully passes the recruitment process. Work with the founders begins with an assessment of the actual stage of the project and an analysis of needs. On this basis, workshops, training courses and consulting services are selected that best respond to the current challenges facing entrepreneurs. As a result, most of the workshops and consultations are individual in nature. For example, a start-up in the early stages of development receives support in refining customer value and proper market segmentation, while a start-up that already has a finished product receives assistance in developing a sales plan. By using an individualised development path, both projects can be successfully developed within the same acceleration round. The acceleration programme is complemented by workshops and training courses.
A schedule tailored to your startup
Since most workshops and consultations are tailored to individual needs, their schedule is much more flexible and adapted to the participants’ interests. This approach increases participant engagement and allows them to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the Accelerator.
Project supervisor and work monitoring
At the beginning of the programme, each start-up is assigned a lead advisor, known as a ‘project mentor’, who oversees the implementation of an individual acceleration plan and guides the entire acceleration process. Regular monitoring of progress and possible adjustments to the direction of work are crucial for the proper distribution of workload. That is why, in our accelerator, each start-up meets with its mentor at regular status meetings, which allows for quick responses to changes and provides additional motivation for effective action.
During the three-month acceleration process, a group of specialists joins the start-up and works closely with the founders (the Academic Start-up League provides 250 hours of consultant time). The experts not only share their knowledge during meetings, but also prepare analyses, financial models, marketing campaigns, develop individualised strategies and presentations. As a result, entrepreneurs receive ready-to-implement solutions prepared by experienced advisors at no cost.
We would love to hear what you think the ideal accelerator should offer.
